Look Mumma, Let’s Play a New Game!
Hi Mumma, guess what? Playing with questions like "who, what, where, why, and how" is tremendously entertaining and teaches me a lot! These challenges force me to consider and improve my grasp of the world. Here's how we can play:
Why These Questions Matter
Asking these questions helps me learn more about everything and makes my brain stronger. They help me figure out how things work and get better at solving problems. Before we start with tougher questions like "when," let’s stick with these ones!
How to Play These Games
Make the Connection
Activity: Ask me questions and then show me the answer. For example, "Where are your shoes?" and then find them together, saying, "Here they are!"
Tip: Try just one question for a few days. That way, it won't be too much for me.
Play "Where Is It?"
How to Play: Hide something, like a ball, then ask, "Where did it go?" After that, say "Here it is!" and help me find it.
Play "Who Is That?"
How to Play: Just point to strangers and ask, "Who is that?" to play. Describe them, say "That's Uncle Theo." Get used to it starting with close friends and relatives.
Play "Why?"
How to Play: To describe why things happen, use simple examples. Say, "Why did the door close?" when a door goes shut. Like, "Oh, ____ closed the door."
Play "How?"
How to Play: Show me how it's done. I could say, "This is how you turn on the tap," and then you could ask, "Can you show me how you opened the drawer?"
Play "What Is That?"
How to Play: Show me something and explain what it is—like "What is that?" "That's an apple."
Why Playing These Games is Great
Language Skills: I learn new terms and grasp what some of others imply.
Cognitive Development: It helps me think more deeply and figure out how to solve problems.
Communication: It makes me want to talk to more people and ask more questions.
Fun and Growth: These games are enjoyable and help me learn and grow.
Appreciation: Thanks for having fun with me while we learned.
