Look , My Very Own Book of Words!
Hi Mumma and Papa, guess what? The first words I learn can go into a special picture book that we can make together! It will be fun and help me remember words I learned as a child. This is how we can begin our picture book project:
Steps to Create My First Words Picture Book
Make a Word List
Mumma, let’s write down all the simple words I can say, like “car,” “dog,” “ball,” and my favorite phrases. Our word list will grow as I learn new words, so let’s update it often!
Take Photos for Each Word
We can take pictures of things that match my words, Mumma. Like a photo of my toy car for “car” or a drawing of a cute dog for “dog.” This will help me connect the word with the picture.
Label Each Image
You can help me by adding the word to each photo, Mumma. We can use photo editing to add text or write directly on the printed pictures. This makes learning the words easier.
Design a Cover
Let’s make the cover special! We can use my favorite photo and call it “My First Words.” This way, it feels very personal and special just for me.
Assemble the Book
We can print the pictures and put them in an album, or we can use rings or staples to hold them together. We can use the Internet to plan and order our picture book.
Enjoy Interactive Reading
We can read this book together, Mumma. As we turn the pages, I'll "read" the pictures. There are things around the house that match the pictures in the book. It will be super fun!
Benefits of the Picture Book Project
Language Development: This helps me learn new words and keep them in mind.
Memory Making: My first words will be written down so that we can look back on them as I grow up
Engagement: It's fun for us to meet and learn about the world together through engagement.
Mumma, this picture book project is a fun and relaxed way for me to learn and improve my language skills. Let's start writing my own book!
