Look Mumma, I'm Learning to Care for Our Planet!
Hey Mumma, did you know I can learn about the world and how to keep it safe? Here are five useful things we can all learn about the earth:
Respect Living Things
Mumma, even though we're bigger and stronger, we should watch out for little animals and not hurt them. I can learn how to gently look at a bug and then let it go. I learn to care about and value other living things, which helps me understand how to take care of our world.
Pick up trash
I love being useful, Mumma! I'd like a bag and some tools to pick up trash as we walk. Every time I pick up trash, I learn to care about the Earth's health and keep it clean.
Turn Off the Lights
If we leave a room with the lights off, I can help the earth. Show me how to get to the switches! I need a little stool. Could you give it to me? I enjoy what I do and think it's important! This teaches me how to save energy from a young age.
Sort trash
Hi, Mumma. That's really fun! I can learn how to sort trash and do things like recycle and compost. Please tell us what goes in each bin so that we can make it a fun game. This teaches me how to sort trash and explains why it's important to recycle and compost.
Conserve Soap with Two Pumps
You can show me how to use only two pumps of soap when I wash my hands. Mama, we can count together. It's important to learn about moderation and avoiding waste, and this easy activity helps me do that.
Implementing These Lessons
Model Behavior: Mumma, I learn from watching you. Show me how you take care of the world every day. People will learn a lot from how you treat living things with care and how you save energy.
Be Patient:
I need time to figure out what I'm doing and change it. Enjoy the little things I do right, and keep leading me gently as I learn how to pick up trash and recycle.
Make It Fun
Fun ways to learn about the world are through stories, songs, and games. This helps me remember the lessons better and makes learning fun for toddlers.
By teaching me these early environmental lessons, you’re helping me grow into a conscious and caring individual. I’ll learn to understand how everything is connected and the importance of protecting our world. Thank you, Mumma.
