Indoor Activities to Develop Coordination

Mumma, Let’s Play Indoors and Get Stronger!

Hi Mumma, even when we can’t go outside, we can still play games that help me get better at moving and balancing. Here are some fun indoor activities from Tinyvers to help me:

  1. Walk Along a DIY Balance Beam

  • Practice: Flip over the Circle of Friends Puzzle, Geo Shapes Puzzle, and Friends of All Shapes Puzzle. Line them up to make a balance beam. Hold my hands and help me walk across it, one foot in front of the other. This helps me learn balance.

  1. Pretend to Be a Bus Driver

  • Practice: Set out pillows on the floor and let me push the Wheel Around Town Bus over them. Moving the bus up and down helps me learn to balance and control my movements.

  1. Carry a Cup Full of Water

  • Practice: Place the Super Sustainable Sink on one side of the room and a bowl on the other. I can fill a cup with water and walk slowly to pour it into the bowl. This helps me learn to move carefully.

  1. Rescue the Animals

  • Practice: Use painter’s tape to stick the Quilted Critters to a wall. I’ll have to get on my tiptoes to reach them, then squat down to put them in a holder. This helps me build the muscles I need for jumping.

  1. Move and Search for a Match

  • Practice: Spread out dots from the Drop & Match Dot Catcher. We can twirl the Spinning Rainbow and find dots that match the color on top. This helps me learn colors and improve my coordination.

  1. Sweep Up a Button Mess

  • Practice: Tape a square on the floor and scatter buttons from the Mosaic Button Board. Show me how to sweep them into the square with a broom. This helps me practice moving my body to solve problems.

  1. Step from One Lily Pad to the Next

  • Practice: Tape the Magic Tissues to the floor and pretend the floor is a lake. I’ll try to step from tissue to tissue without touching the floor. This helps me learn to jump and balance.

  1. Walk Like an Animal

  • Practice: We can put animal toys in a bag and pull them out one at a time. I’ll try to move like each animal. This is fun and helps me practice different movements.

  1. Have a Dance Party

  • Practice: Let’s turn on my favorite song and dance! I can spin and twirl with a Play Scarf or play along with the Simple Concertina. Dancing is so much fun and helps me move to the beat.

Thanks for playing with me and helping me get stronger, Mumma!
