Five Ways to Play with Pom Poms

Mumma, look at these cute pom poms!

Hey Mumma,  I love playing with pom poms! They are soft, bright, and great for learning. Allow me to share five enjoyable games that involve pom poms that will assist my growth and education. Remember to keep a close eye on me to keep me safe.

Poking Fun

Activity: Let's put pom poms through the opening of a milk or juice box that isn't being used. Make a flap at the bottom so they're easy to take off and play again!

Skills Developed: This helps me learn how things work and coordinate my hands and eyes.

Tweezing Time

Setup: Please give me tweezers so I can move the pom poms from one bin to another. I can use my fingers instead of tweezers if I'm not ready for them.

Benefits for Learning: This helps me focus, have better fine motor skills, and coordinate my hands and eyes better.

Hidden Treasures

Game: Let's put pom poms and other things in a box and play a game. I can use words to describe texture or shape to reach in and find things.

Cognitive Growth: This helps me learn to tell the difference between forms and textures, and it also helps me learn new words.

Colorful Sorting

Activity Idea: To sort pom poms by color, size, or type, we can use a muffin tin or an egg box.

Educational Value: This helps me learn basic math skills like sorting and organizing, and it also helps me recognize colors and sizes.

Sticky Situation

Creative Play: Putting pom poms on clear contact paper with the sticky side looking out would be fun. It can be put on walls, windows, tables, or chairs.

Skill Building: This helps me be more creative, improve my small motor skills, and explore my senses.
