Encouraging Toddler Independence at Home

Encouraging Toddler Independence at Home

Look Mumma, I Can Do More on My Own!

Hi Mumma, I'm learning to do things by myself, and with a few changes at home, I can be even more independent. Here are some tips to help me:

  1. Shoe Box Near the Door

  • Practice: A special box for my shoes helps me find them easily and know where to put them away. This makes getting ready to go out so much easier!

  1. Portable Step-Stool

  • Practice: A step-stool I can carry helps me brush my teeth, wash my hands, and get a drink of water. Moving it around makes me feel like a big kid!

  1. Low, Accessible Dishes

  • Practice: If my dishes are on a low shelf, I can help set the table and put my dishes away. It's fun to be part of these tasks.

  1. Low Laundry Basket

  • Practice: A basket I can reach helps me put my dirty clothes away. It's easier for me to see where my clothes go and keep my room tidy.

  1. Low Shelves for Toys

  • Practice: Low shelves and open bins help me find my toys and put them away. The Montessori Playshelf is perfect for this!

Thanks for helping me learn to do things on my own, Mumma!
