Exploring Sensory Activities: Building Neural Pathways in Two-Year-Olds

Hi Mumma and Dadda, guess what? I can learn so much by playing with different textures and materials! These sensory activities are like magic for my brain, helping me grow and develop in fun ways.

  1. Painting with Feet

Look, Mumma! When I paint with my feet, it's so tickly and fun! We can put a big piece of paper on the floor and some colorful paints. I can walk, hop, or slide my feet over the paint. It helps me balance and feel where my body is. Isn’t that cool?

  1. Ice Play

Hey Dadda, can we play with ice? It's so slippery and cold! We can make ice cube towers using salt to stick them together or freeze little toys in ice and I can excavate them like a real explorer. This helps me with patience and fine motor skills. So exciting!

  1. Shaving Cream Play

Mumma, shaving cream is so soft and squishy! We can play with it and even make puffy paint by mixing it with glue and food coloring. This helps me with my creativity and makes my hands feel different textures. Can we try this together?

  1. Mud Play

Dadda, playing with mud is so much fun! We can have a mud kitchen and make pretend food or build mud sculptures. It’s messy but it helps me stay healthy and boosts my creativity. Let's get dirty!

These activities are not just fun, they help my brain grow and learn. Can we do these together? I can’t wait!
