16 Ideas for Screen-Free Play on a Plane

Hey there Mumma, Daddy, It's great to be able to have fun without having to look at a screen. We'll be happy and busy with those great things while we're in the air. 

1. Pull and Stick

Activities : You can give me  stickers, and we can play games with them such as naming the parts of the body or even making a sticker collage on papers. 

Skills Developed : This helps me with my fine motor skills and understanding of body parts. 

2. Win-Win Wipes

Activity: You can please give me a pack of wipes to clean the tray table and seats. 

Skills Developed: This helps me learn about body parts and get better at using my little muscles. 

3. Little Presents

Activity: Wrap small toys or items which I can unwrap during the flight. Its just like a little surprise party. 

Skills Developed: This help my fine motor skills and provides come fun in terms of sensory feedback. 

4. Sticky Note Flags

Activity: Allow me to put and pull down sticky notes around the seating arrangement from the gecko box. 

Skills Developed: This is enjoyable for my fine motor skills and enhances my spatial skills. 

5. Markers and Paper

Activity: We can draw with each other using washable markers. Drawing is such fun! 

Skills Developed: This enhances my imagination, hand-eye coordination and gives us time for shared attention. 

6. Books

Activity: Bring me some of the Tinyvers books that you have and some others that are in your favorites. 

Skills Developed: This helps me improve my speaking skills, my ability to listen, and my creativity.  

7. Multi-purpose portable toys 

Activities: Organize useful toys such as Montessori wooden toys like 3D puzzles 

Skills Developed: These toys help me think more clearly, solve problems, and use my imagination while I play.  

8. Games and snacks 

Activity: Simple counting or peek-a-boo games can be played with snack packages. Having snacks is always fun!  

Skills Developed: This helps me learn how to count and understand how things stay the same over time.  

9. A Look at the Light Switch and Air Blower 

Activity: Let me control the light and air flow above you. I like to try new things!  

Skills Developed: This helps me see how one thing can lead to another 

10. Games and songs for laps 

Activity: While I sit on your lap, sing and play games that I can connect with. It's so much fun!  

Skills Developed: This helps me improve my language and movement skills.  

11. Ice and plastic cups 

Activity: Play with the ice in the cup. It's very cool and interesting!  

Skills developed: This helps me in my sensory exploration and understanding of states of matter.  

12. Opening and closing the blinds 

Activity: I practice opening and closing the window curtains. I love looking out!  

Skills developed: This helps me follow my fine motor skills and instructions. 

13. Visit the flight attendant 

Activity: Visit the flight attendants and have a basic conversation with them. Nice to meet fresh individuals  

Skills developed: This has improved my social skills and community involvement.  

14. Play peekaboo

Activity: Use a scarf or look above the seat to play a game of peekaboo. It's always fun!  

Skills developed: This helped me understand social interactions and the permanence of objects.  

15. Opening, folding and closing security cards 

Activity: Look for the safety manual in the seat bag. It's very interesting!  

Skills developed: This helped me with fine motor skills and curiosity about print media.  

16. Talking about flight details 

Activity: Tell me about the trip, the map, or the view out the window. I like to learn new things.  

Skills Developed: This helps me improve my thinking and language.
